Every time you bend down to reach the tap, day in, day out, you will be reminded that a key aspect of bathroom planning – the installation height – was neglected. So, at what height should washbasins, toilets or mirror cabinets be mounted? Well, the answer is simple: it depends on your height and on whether you are fit or have restricted mobility. People who are around 69" tall are fortunate, as they are the right size for the standards that determine installation heights. If you are any taller than this, an installation height of 80 cm for the washbasin is clearly going to be too low. The standard height of 40 cm for a WC might also be too low, as you end up squatting rather than sitting on the WC – this might be better for your body, but it is harder to get back up again. If you do not instruct them otherwise, plumbers will install sanitary elements at the stan
